Green Movement
The work relates to the Iranian Green Movement in which peaceful protesters demanding civil liberties were attacked.
The repeating pattern is formed from the Farsi word meaning freedom (AZADI).
I chose the image of a covered woman for this piece because the Green Movement, which started as a general civil liberties movement quickly became a women’s freedom centric movement.
